Microsoft PowerPoint for web will now let users add videos with closed captions
Microsoft PowerPoint for web will let users insert videos into their presentations with closed captions and subtitles. The feature is a breakthrough for the differently abled, who may have trouble hearing. Closed captions can be added to videos in multiple languages so that users can connect with their audience easily. Subtitles have already become a supportive feature for many video-sharing platforms like TikTok, Netflix, Zoom, etc. and Microsoft isn't staying behind. To embed a video and insert captions, users will have to create closed caption files in the WebVTT format by either using a caption-creation tool or a text editor like Notepad. After selecting a video on PowerPoint web, users will need to insert the video, and then insert subtitle similarly. For insertion of multiple languages, multiple different files will have to be uploaded to support the feature. In March they company launched an "Accessibility Assistant” for Microsoft 365 to let users know when they’re writing inaccessible content, with 3D-printed attachments and grips for the Surface Pen.
