Meta to roll out ‘favorites’ feature for seamless WhatsApp filtering
Mark Zuckerberg has unveiled a new ‘favorites’ feature for WhatsApp, aiming to streamline the user experience by filtering chats, groups, and calls. Announced yesterday through Zuckerberg's official channel on WhatsApp, the feature is designed to help users prioritise and manage their communications more efficiently. Rolling out now, the ‘favorites’ feature is compatible with the latest versions of WhatsApp on both iOS and Android. While some users may not see the update immediately, it is expected to become widely available shortly. This announcement follows WhatsApp’s recent rollout of AI-powered business features and the Meta Verified program, marking another step in enhancing user engagement and control. The update also builds on the recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.15.10, which introduced an AI Studio feature with additional chatbots. This update enables users to improve their messaging experience by easily accessing their most important conversations directly from the chats tab. Users can mark both individual chats and group conversations as favorites, ensuring these are readily accessible and prioritized. In addition, another filter to allow users to quickly locate their favorites is now available within the calls tab, making the process of placing calls faster as a phone call will become just a tap away. These filters add a new layer of convenience to managing interactions, ensuring users can easily connect with their preferred contacts and groups.
