Youtube broadens @Handles to 75 languages
YouTube has broadened the availability of its @handles feature to 75 languages, enhancing accessibility for creators globally. Initially launched in 2022, @handles offer a simplified channel listing, allowing for greater customization and easier connection to content. According to YouTube, "Creators and viewers will be able to customize their unique handle in their preferred language. Handles are displayed across YouTube, on Shorts, and in comments, so be sure to select a handle in your preferred language that you’re comfortable with as your public identity." The platform emphasized that @handles are distinct to each channel, unlike channel names, and function as unique URLs, facilitating direct access to content. This feature, similar to those on Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram, provides additional branding opportunities for creators. Expanding @handles to more languages aims to enable creators to establish a more tailored presence and engage better with their audiences. In addition, YouTube has introduced a new element in YouTube Studio to provide enhanced insights into shopping performance. The "YouTube Shopping Card" now includes a listing of top products in channel stores and links to a "Shopping Hub" for deeper insights. Affiliate creators will have access to their latest results and top affiliate deals. This info card aims to help channel managers monitor product performance within the app and understand how shopping elements contribute to their overall YouTube metrics. The new shopping info display is available to all creators with stores or those enrolled in affiliate programs.
